Classic Mojito with Bacardi Limón

A Rum-Lover’s Summer Essential
With its roots in centuries-old remedies and its place cemented in cocktail culture, the Mojito is more than just a thirst-quencher—it’s a sip of history. Whether you’re recreating the classic or giving it a modern twist with Bacardi Limón, it’s hard to go wrong with a drink this timeless.
Course: Cocktails

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Bacardi Limón rum
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice about half a lime
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup or 1 tsp sugar
  • Club soda to top
  • Ice crushed or cubes
  • Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish

Method

  1. Muddle: In a tall glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the lime juice and simple syrup. Don’t pulverize the mint—just press to release the oils.
  2. Add rum: Pour in the Bacardi Limón and stir to combine.
  3. Add ice: Fill the glass with ice, preferably crushed for that traditional texture.
  4. Top it off: Add a splash of club soda (2–3 oz or to taste) and gently stir again.
  5. Garnish: Add a sprig of mint and a wedge of lime. Serve with a straw if desired.

Notes

Additional Tips:

  • For deeper flavor: Let the mint, lime, and sugar sit for 2–3 minutes after muddling to let the oils and citrus mingle.
  • Make it a pitcher: Multiply the ingredients by 5 and prepare in a large pitcher, adding soda and ice just before serving.
