I purchased the download plans on PayPal yesterday to be used on SketchUp. I have not received anything yet and need guidance on where to find them and how to get them onto SketchUp.

Hi Louis, thanks for the note. Check your junk or spam email folder first to see if the download link wended up there due to firewalls and email filtering. The system sends an email link immediately upon purchase, so if you don’t see it, let me know and I’m happy to generate a new one.
Thanks,
Ed

Hi there, thanks so much for this awesome guide! In the cut list you have (2) 1×5 @ 6″ trimmed to 3 3/4″ width, and those are for the middle part of each of the corner posts? So should that be 4 cuts instead of 2?

I purchased the Tatami King and Queen size bed plans at 8am on 8 March 23 and have not received the plans yet. How long does it take to receive via email?

Hi Tim, the email download link goes out instantly. Check your junk/spam folder and see if it got tagged there & let me know. I’ll go ahead and have my system send another manual link. Thanks!

Thanks for this! I bought the queen plans and I was just planning on doing the math myself, but it’s nice to have something to double check my figures on. I see in the pdf you use Sketchup! That’s my go to as well. I’ll probably end up rendering it in Skethcup myself just to get my head around it, but have you considered having the sketchup files as an additional purchase/download?

Just purchased the plans for the queen bed. If I wanted to make the King instead do I need separate plans or can I just add measurements for a king?

I am quite a novice at this but it does seem doable.
Are those measurements for the mattress to fit inside the frame?
I was going to attach 2x2s to the inside of the frame so the cross slats would be recessed and part of the mattress could fit into that recess.

Hi Sue, thanks for the note. Yes, this is a good plan for a more novice woodworker. The biggest challenge of it is the joint for the bed rails, but it can be done with a circular saw and some patience. The plan is designed for the mattress to fit inside the frame, but I always suggest measuring your mattress and adjusting as needed, since even though there are standard mattress sizes, different manufacturers have slight variations.
Thanks,
Ed
