My LG dishwasher has been leaking water out of the door, leaving a puddle on the floor and threatening to do some serious damage to the hardwoods underneath! After searching on the internet and finding a number of other folks that have the same problem and solutions that all seemed to point to having to buy a new door for it, I decided to do a little reverse engineering and see if I could figure out what was going on. The other common answer for the leaking problem (with the common response being that it doesn’t fix the problem) is a new door gasket. The good news is that I solved my problem for less than $40 using just a phillips screwdriver in about 20 minutes (once I had the part). I hope my solution might help you too.

On a recent Southwest flight, I was flipping through the Spirit magazine and ran across an add for a David Copperfield show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Since I’ve been working on portraits, this add made a perfect picture from which to practice. Since I’ve started working on portraits, you really start to notice facial features and David’s cool face jumped out at me!

Reflections of Destin in October
I recently returned from a vacation to the Destin, Florida which holds a special place in my heart. For those coastal lovers who have grown up going year after year to some particular beach, you know the magic such destinations hold. There is of course, natural beauty. But there are lots of places in the world that have that and probably more. For me, it’s that plus the sense of connection, the memories and experiences, and the changes that the passage of time yields which together make this special place one of my favorites on earth.
While working on my recent Farmhouse Bed Project, I realized that I really needed a solid workbench. I’ve been using an old door on a couple of saw horses, and that’s ok, but what would really be great is a large workbench that I could actually move around my “shop” as I’m building. So at the risk of all the problems that arise when I’m trying to multi-task, I took on the project of building a workbench in the middle of my bed project.
